Hormone Health
Hormones are chemical messengers that our body uses to function optimally. These include insulin, cortisol, adrenaline, oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone, melatonin and thyroid hormones and more.
All of our hormones are connected so when we talk about a “hormone imbalance” it could be any of multiples of these or other hormones. For women especially, our hormones fluctuate naturally over the course of our lives but also within our menstrual cycle every month and these fluctuations can impact how we feel.
Some of the symptoms women experience when hormones are out of balance include low energy or fatigue, poor sleep, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), low mood, headaches, period pains, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), fertility issues, amenorrhea.
Symptoms can also extend into perimenopausal / menopausal phase of a woman’s life also where women may experience hot flashes, restless legs, brain fog, fatigue, night sweats, vaginal dryness, panic attacks, mood swings, sore joints and weight gain.
If a person has an underactive thyroid, they may experience low energy, struggle to lose weight, low mood, muscle cramps, cold hands and feet, and constipation amongst other symptoms.
The good news is, your diet & lifestyle can help balance your hormones and therefore help you feel better.
For any client who is looking at improving hormonal type symptoms, we recommend at least 3 appointments over 3 months as it often takes time to incorporate the changes required
